This resource relates to tens and ones place value worksheets. Now includes PDF fillable worksheets, which your students can complete on a computer device. There is a total of 25 worksheets with three different activities. Some students may require concrete objects to help them. To make this a practical lesson together with the worksheets, you can set out base 10 towers or dienes, unifix cubes or other objects to help students set out tens and ones/units columns and then complete the worksheets. Content: • Worksheets (A) to (I): Write the number the base 10 tower blocks represent • Worksheets 1 to 8: Cut/paste base 10 tower blocks activity • Worksheets 1 to 6: Describing numbers This product contains three different activities relating to tens and ones. Worksheets (A) to (I): Students work out what number the base 10 towers represent and then write the number in the circle. Worksheets 1 to 8: This is a cut and paste activity. Students read the numbers in the circles and then look for the tens and ones towers that represent that number. They cut out and glue the correct tens and ones onto the blank boards. Worksheets 1 to 6: Students complete a table. On the left-hand side are numbers. For each number students describe the number in tens and ones. Worksheet 1 shows the first example, e.g. the number 16 is 1 ten and 6 ones. Extension opportunity: The more able can expand each number, so 16 would be 10 + 6 Thank you for visiting my shop:-)

This product contains a set of worksheets relating to place value: tens and ones - No regrouping. Aimed at: Year 1/Year 2; SEN If your pupils are still struggling with the concept of partitioning/splitting numbers into tens and ones and adding and subtracting mentally, then this resource provides hands-on activity. Once the pupils have grasped the basic, they can then match the tens and ones buttons to base 10 blocks. Content: Worksheets (x4) - Understanding numbers. Pupils count the buttons and draw around 10 and count on the ones. They write the number and partition it following the example on the worksheet. E.g Count 12, circle 10 buttons - write 10 and 2 and show that it is 1 ten and 2 ones. Addition of two-digit numbers worksheets (x5) : The first page shows pupils an example (add the tens and then the ones) and then they complete the two sums. The remaining 4 worksheets require the pupils to cut and paste tens and ones to match the equations and then solve it. Subtraction of two-digit numbers worksheets (x4 : The first worksheets explains that the pupils need to take away the tens and then the ones. E.g. 15 - 11 = Pupils cut and paste tens and ones for the first number only. Then they look at the second number ‘11’ and cross out the tens and then the ones. Tens and ones Match up worksheets (x3) - Cut/paste activity - Pupils match up the tens and ones buttons to the base 10 towers and then write the number it represents. Worksheets (x2): Counting from 10, counting on different numbers of buttons and from 20, counting on different numbers of buttons. There are couple of questions for the students to answer. Please note it is a hands on resource and the lesson plan should be used in conjunction with the presentations as there is a lesson starter presentation. It can be used for reviewing tens and ones or teaching it from scratch, so the detailed lesson plan is flexible. Some preparation is needed to carry out the activities such as collection of different coloured straws, elastic bands, suggested materials such as counters, unifix cubes; cut out the 1 digit number tiles for the worksheet or you can get children to select two numbers from a pile, write it down and then describe the place value - see 5. in the list below. This product contains: Lesson Starter PowerPoint Presentation - Counting in tens from 0 to 100 and back. Also included is the Hundred Square if you need to demonstrate counting in steps or groups of 10. A dragon-themed resource relating to place value: tens and ones. Content: - Worksheet 1 (3 pages) - Students group the dragons in tens and then add on the ones to make the number which they write in the blank box. - Worksheet 2 (10 pages) -This is a cut and paste activity where by the students partition the number at the top into tens and ones by cutting out dragons and sticking the correct number of dragons in the labelled circles (tens/ones). - Worksheet 3 (10 pages) - This is a cut and paste activity as above but the activity goes one step further whereby the students write the number in a place value frame or grid. - Worksheet 4 (5 pages)(extension) - This is for the more able and the students are ready for the next step. This product relates to addition and subtraction two step word problems. There are 36 worksheet activities (layout is 2 on a landscape sheet) which you can cut apart or leave as is. The worksheets are with color and b/w pictures for each problem. There is also a PowerPoint presentation showing how you can solve each problem and write the two step equations with a final answer. Content: PowerPoint Presentation Worksheets Answer Sheets which you can laminate and cut into cards Teacher Notes PowerPoint Presentation 8 Slides (Slide Show Mode for animation) Use the presentation as a whole class activity and go through suggested examples of how students can work through two step problems. Students can even work through one of the worksheet activities displayed on the PowerPoint and then share their solutions. Worksheet activities If you are looking to introduce your students to two-step addition and subtraction problems then these worksheets are suitable just to ease the students in. There are no trick word problems. There is an opportunity for students to use their own methods of solving the questions and share with the class. Other Suggested Uses You can use the activity sheets in small group work and one-to-one teaching. You can use manipulatives to explain the problem and highlight what needs to be written down to solve the two-step equations. For example, Activity 35: use real paper to solve how many sheets of paper are left in the school secretary’s printer. This single phonics pack focuses on initial consonant blend ‘pl’ CCVC words. As with the other consonant blends packs: it is child-centred child-friendly and a step up from CVC and CCV to Phase 4: Letters and Sounds Phonics. Aimed at: Early Years and keystage 1, SEND and ESL/EFL students. It is an addition to my other resources on initial consonant blends. This pack contains: Flexible Lesson Plan with learning objectives, lesson starter, main activities and plenary - You can choose which parts are relevant to your class. PowerPoint slides are referred to in the plan. PowerPoint Presentation 1 (30 Slides)- includes explanation of initial blend, CCVC words and whole class activities to prepare children for their independent activities. These are Summer phonics worksheets relating to final consonant blends or clusters. They are ideal for reviewing work on final blends and for reading simple sentences with common final blends. There are multiple-choice worksheets whereby students select the correct blend to complete each word. There is a fun activity for students to crack various codes (cryptograms) using summer-themed pictures to represent letters to fill in gaps in sentences and match words to pictures. This phonics pack focuses on initial consonant blend ‘pr’ CCVC words. As with the other consonant blends packs: it is child-centred and child-friendly and Phase 4: Letters and Sounds Phonics. Aimed at: Foundation stage and Keystage 1, SEND and ESL/EFL students. It is an addition to my other resources on initial consonant blends. This pack contains: Flexible Lesson Plan with learning objectives, lesson starter, main activities and plenary - You can choose which parts are relevant to your class. PowerPoint slides are referred to in the plan. Because the lesson plan is flexible you can choose a 15 min phonic input, 30 mins or an hour phonics input. PowerPoint Presentation 1 (29 Slides)- includes explanation of initial blend, CCVC words and whole class activities to prepare children for their independent activities. It also explains meanings of words through pictures. PowerPoint Phoneme Presentation (17 Slides)- Optional (Use as reference - some children may still be struggling with segmenting/blending) - I have listed all the CCVC words (13) and the units of sound above the fingers so that children can see and hear the separate phonemes (with pictures) - extension some children may be able to give you other meaning for the words in a sentence. I have illustrated through clipart words such as ‘press’ ‘prep’ ‘prim’, ‘prop’ and ‘prom’. Flashcards and words with and without sound buttons and lines. (Laminate for long use) Set of pictures and words for matching activities (8) - Small group practical activities. (Laminate and cut apart for use) Activity 1 - 2 Sets of cut/paste activities (1 set with handwriting lines, the other set without), (5 activity sheets in each set) Worksheet 1 - Completing initial missing blends and then writing out the words and drawing pictures for each word. Worksheet 2 - Unscrambling the words and writing them opposite each picture, Writing a sentence for each of the 4 words. Worksheet 3 - for the more able students - very short text called ‘The Proof’ to review ‘pr’. Students read the text and answer 4 questions, circle ‘pr’ CCVC words and and write a sentence for each one - (2 different writing lines). You can combine the set of pictures and words with the other resources I have done on consonant blends - creating a set of pictures and words for future use. Worksheet 2: Students select two correct blends to complete the words in the sentence. Colour by Code: Summer Beach (2 versions) – with Solution. The blends in this activity are colour-coded. The consonant blends are: bl, br, cr, fr, gl, sn, sp and st. The image shows words and pictures beginning with consonant blends. First version: the colours are displayed with the beginning consonants in order to colour the images correctly, students use the colour code to complete the activity.
